Mt.Huangshan

Mt. Huangshan is located in Huangshan City, in the south of Anhui Province. It has 72 peaks. The main peak of Lianhua Peak is 1864 meters above sea level, which is one of the 36 peaks. Mt. Huangshan is the symbol of Anhui tourism, which is the UNESCO’s world cultural and natural heritages, the world World Geopark, the national AAAAA tourist attraction, the national scenic spot, and the referential site of China Civilized Scenic Spot Area. And it belongs to the top ten famous mountains in China and the most spectacular mountain in the world.

Mt. Huangshan belongs to subtropical monsoon climate, where the climate is changing vertically because of high mountains and deep valleys and parts of terrains lead a role play for the climate. So, the special monsoon climate is formed because that there are plenty of cloud and mist, high moisture and precipitation. There exists no heat in summer and no cold in winter. The annually average precipitation is 2369.3 mm, the annual average raining time has 180.6 days, and that mainly occurs in April and June. The snow-covered time is about 32.9 days; the foggy time is 259 days and the windy time is 118.7 days. The annually average temperature is 7.9℃,while the highest temperature is 27℃ and the lowest is -22℃. The longest no-rainy period can sustain for 40 days. There are many dense forest and streams and waterfalls. The air quality is kept Grade I all the year round, the daily average concentration of PM2.5 is 5 μ g / m3, and the concentration of negative oxygen ions in the air is stable at more than 20000 / cm3 over the years, which is called “Natural Oxygen bar”.

The ecosystem of Mt. Huangshan is stable and balanced, the plant community is complete and vertically distributed, the forest coverage rate of the scenic spot is 84.7%, and the vegetation coverage reaches 93%. There are 1805 types of higher plants, including Huangshan Pine, Huangshan azalea, Tiannv flower, Manglietia, Taxus, hemlock and so on, and 28 types of plants first found in Mt. Huangshan or named by Huangshan. Among them, there are Metasequoia in the first class of national protection, 4 types in the second including Ginkgo biloba, eight types in the third class, ten endangered species including Dendrobium, and six endemic species to China. Especially the most famous teas are “Huangshan Maofeng” and “Huangshan Ganoderma lucidum”.

Mt. Huangshan is not only a beautiful natural mountain, but also a rich art treasure. Since ancient times, people have visited Huangshan, built Huangshan and praised Huangshan, leaving rich cultural heritage, which can be summarized as “Five Characteristics” of relics, painting, literature, legends and celebrities. There are more than 100 ancient buildings in Huangshan, such as towers, pavilions, bridges, etc., most of which are in Anhui styles, with warping angles and cocked cornices, and simplicity and elegance. Among them, Tingtao residence is located in front of the herringbone waterfall and on the top of Ziyun rock, which used to be the place of confinement of General Zhang Xueliang. There are nearly 300 carvings in the cliffs of Huangshan, including various writing styles in China, all of which are from Yan, Liu, Ou and Zhao schools. For the Chinese character“平” ,it is 6 meters in width and 9.4 meters in height, that is rare in the world. The typeface is powerful, natural and unrestrained. It is majestic from the cliff with more than 200 meters high.
