Sangke Prairie

Sangke prairie is 13 kilometers away from the west of Xiahe County, Gannan Prefecture. Sangke prairie is a part of Dajiutan prairie in Sangke township (between the “horse running river rapids”) . It is a flat mountain prairie surrounded by mountains, famous for its excellent prairie and the grand Tibetan Buddhist activities held here in history.

There are two Tibetan tent reception stations. From July to September every year, Tibetan tents are set up to prepare for tourists fresh milk tea, tsamba, Tibetan bags, hand-held mutton and other Tibetan characteristics, as well as horse, yak, shooting bonfire party and other prairie tourism programs. Sangke prairie is a natural pasture for Tibetan people, with lush water and grass. In summer, the prairie is as green as a blanket. The horse race Festival here is very famous. On July 13 (Chinese lunar calendar), the seven tribes of Sankoh will hold a horse race here. After arriving at Sangke prairie, tourists will basically experience horse riding. Horse riding here does not allow the horse to run on the prairie. In order to ensure safety, it is usually led by a horse driver. Follow the hillside behind the prairie to the private prairie of herdsmen. Generally, these prairies are well protected, and the grass grows luxuriantly. There are various kinds of wild flowers in them. The scenery is very beautiful.
